Central Labs Compounding Pharmacy

Effective date: 31 May 2026

Central Labs Compounding Pharmacy offers collection and delivery options for eligible pharmacy products, prescription medicines, compounded medicines and related items.

Because many of our products are prescription medicines, compounded medicines, sterile preparations or temperature-sensitive items, shipping options may vary depending on the medicine, patient location, storage requirements and pharmacist assessment.

1. Order processing

Orders are only processed after we have received and reviewed all required information, which may include:

  • a valid prescription
  • patient details
  • prescriber details
  • payment
  • delivery address
  • relevant clinical or medication information
  • any required clarification from the prescriber or patient

Submitting an order, prescription or quote request does not guarantee immediate dispatch. Some medicines require pharmacist review, prescriber clarification, ingredient ordering, compounding, quality checks or special packaging before they can be released.

2. Compounded medicines

Compounded medicines are prepared specifically for an individual patient or animal.

Dispatch times may vary depending on:

  • formulation complexity
  • ingredient availability
  • sterile or non-sterile preparation requirements
  • prescription clarification
  • workload and preparation schedule
  • quality checks
  • packaging and courier suitability

We will provide an estimated timeframe where possible.

3. Shipping areas

We may offer shipping within Australia, subject to legal, professional, safety and operational requirements.

Some medicines may not be suitable for shipping to all locations, including remote areas, areas with extended transit times, or areas where temperature control cannot be reasonably maintained.

Central Labs may refuse or modify a delivery request if we consider shipping unsuitable for the medicine or unsafe for the patient.

4. Local delivery and collection

Where available, customers may be offered:

  • pharmacy collection
  • local courier delivery
  • express courier delivery
  • temperature-controlled delivery
  • standard parcel delivery for suitable items

Collection or delivery options will depend on the medicine type and location.

5. Delivery timeframes

Delivery timeframes are estimates only.

Delays may occur due to:

  • prescription clarification
  • compounding preparation time
  • ingredient availability
  • courier delays
  • weather or heat exposure risk
  • public holidays
  • weekends
  • remote delivery locations
  • temperature-controlled shipping requirements

Central Labs is not responsible for courier delays outside our control, but we will assist where reasonable if a delivery issue occurs.

6. Temperature-sensitive medicines

Some medicines require temperature-controlled storage or transport.

Where required, we may use insulated packaging, cold packs, temperature-control materials or special courier arrangements.

Customers must ensure that someone is available to receive temperature-sensitive medicines when delivered. Medicines should be unpacked promptly and stored according to the label or pharmacist instructions.

If a temperature-sensitive parcel is left unattended, missed, delayed due to incorrect address details, or not collected promptly, Central Labs may not be responsible for product deterioration unless the issue was caused by us.

7. Delivery address accuracy

You are responsible for providing accurate delivery details.

Please check:

  • recipient name
  • street address
  • unit or suite number
  • suburb
  • postcode
  • phone number
  • delivery instructions

Central Labs is not responsible for failed or delayed delivery caused by incorrect, incomplete or outdated address information provided by the customer.

Additional shipping charges may apply if an order needs to be redirected, resent or replaced due to incorrect delivery details.

8. Authority to leave

Some deliveries may allow authority to leave, depending on the courier and medicine type.

Authority to leave may not be suitable for:

  • prescription medicines
  • temperature-sensitive medicines
  • high-value medicines
  • sterile preparations
  • medicines requiring pharmacist-controlled handover

If you request or accept authority to leave, you accept the risk of loss, theft, heat exposure or damage after the parcel has been delivered, unless the issue was caused by Central Labs.

9. Missed deliveries

If a delivery is missed, the courier may leave a card, attempt redelivery, redirect to a collection point or return the parcel.

You are responsible for arranging prompt collection or redelivery.

For temperature-sensitive medicines, delays caused by missed delivery may affect medicine quality. Please contact Central Labs immediately if this occurs.

10. Damaged, delayed or missing parcels

Please contact Central Labs as soon as possible if your parcel:

  • has not arrived within the expected timeframe
  • arrives damaged
  • appears tampered with
  • is warm when it should be cold
  • has leaked
  • contains the wrong item
  • is missing items

We may request photos of the parcel, label, packaging, cold-chain materials or damaged product to help assess the issue.

Where the issue was caused by Central Labs or the product fails to meet applicable consumer guarantees, we will provide an appropriate remedy.

11. Shipping fees

Shipping fees may vary depending on:

  • delivery location
  • parcel size and weight
  • courier type
  • urgency
  • temperature-control requirements
  • special handling requirements

Shipping fees will usually be confirmed before payment or dispatch.

Shipping fees may not be refundable where an order has already been dispatched, unless required by law or where the issue was caused by Central Labs.

12. Weekend and public holiday shipping

We may avoid shipping certain medicines before weekends or public holidays where there is a risk of courier delay, storage issue or temperature exposure.

This is especially important for refrigerated, frozen, sterile or time-sensitive medicines.

Where appropriate, dispatch may be delayed until the next suitable business day to protect medicine quality.

13. International shipping

Central Labs does not generally ship medicines internationally.

International supply may be restricted by prescription laws, customs rules, import/export requirements and medicine regulations.

14. Returns due to failed delivery

If a parcel is returned to Central Labs due to incorrect address details, failed delivery, non-collection or customer unavailability, we will assess whether the product is still suitable for release.

Prescription medicines, compounded medicines, sterile preparations and temperature-sensitive medicines may not be able to be resent or reused once they have left our control.

Additional charges may apply for redelivery, replacement or re-preparation where the failed delivery was not caused by Central Labs.
